What Is Padel
(& Why It’s Taking Over Australia)
The sport we can’t stop playing — and soon, you won’t either.
Padel is a doubles racket sport played on an enclosed glass court about one-third the size of a tennis court. You serve underarm, the ball can bounce off the walls, and the rallies last forever (in the best way). Born in Spain, It’s the fastest-growing sport in the world — and it’s finally taking off in Australia.
How Padel Works (and Why It’s So Much Fun)
The court
We play on a 20 m × 10 m court, divided by a net. The back and sides are glass, and yes — the walls are part of the game.
After the ball bounces once, it can rebound off the glass and still be in play.
How a point plays out
1. Serve underarm below waist, diagonal.
2. Ball must bounce once before hitting walls.
3. Walls keep the rally alive — fences end it.
4. Scoring = tennis (15-30-40-game).
5. Best-of-three sets.
The Feel of the Game
1 🎯 Easy to learn & hard to master
2 👬 Always doubles: social by design
3 💥 Use the glass: rebounds = longer points
4 😂 Fun guaranteed: laughter per minute.
The Serve & Rally
You serve underarm (below the waist), hitting diagonally to the opponent’s box. After one bounce, the ball can hit the wall — and that’s where the fun begins. Once it touches the metal fence, it’s out.
You’ll rally, lob, smash, or bounce it off the glass — and the walls turn every point into a puzzle.
Mini-tip box:
🎾 Keep it low: Bounce below the waist, smooth and controlled.
🔥 Aim smart: Forget power—hit corners, not speed.
The Gear
You’ll use a solid, string-free racket (perforated with holes) and low-pressure balls. Lighter, safer, and easier to handle than tennis gear — perfect for beginners and weekend warriors alike.
Mini-tip box:
🎾 Pick an easy, low-weight racket for control.
🔥 Wear grip shoes: Tennis-style shoes with strong grip work best.
Why Padel is different?
Padel sits somewhere between tennis, squash, and pure fun — fast rallies, smart shots, and constant laughter. It’s social by nature, but don’t be fooled — it can get seriously competitive too.
You’ll notice:
Longer rallies — the glass keeps points alive and forces creativity.
Less pressure — underarm serves and smaller courts make it easy to start.
More laughs — every point feels like a team effort.
Coach’s note:
“Most people rally within ten minutes. But mastering Padel? That’s where the magic starts. The technique, the tactics, the precision — Padel rewards those who train hard and think fast”.
Coach’s note:
It’s the sport you can play with your kids, your mates, or your parents — and everyone enjoys it for different reasons.

Padel in Australia
A new sport. A new community. And it’s growing fast!
The first wave of players, coaches, and clubs are already building what could become one of Australia’s most exciting sports in the next decade. We’re not following a trend — we’re building it.
Coach’s note:
“It’s wild to see it happen this fast. Two years ago, most Aussies hadn’t even heard of padel. Now we’ve got national teams, packed social nights, and clubs that feel like home”.
