What is padel?
Padel is a fun, fast-paced racket sport that’s a mix between tennis and squash. It’s played in doubles on an enclosed court, with walls that the ball can bounce off. Easy to learn, addictive to play!. Just put padel in You tube to see the rules and watch a few games before you come down. If you have played a racket sport before you will pick it up easily.
Do I need to be a member to play at Sol Padel?
No! Everyone is welcome. We offer "pay-per-play" options, as well as memberships for regular players who want extra perks.
Where is Sol Padel located?
16 Evesham Place, Thurgoona. Drive into the Thurgoona Golf Club and head right towards the tennis courts, you will see the Sol Padel club house. There are plenty of parking spots available.
Is Padel the same as pickleball?
No, Padel and pickleball are different sports. While both are fun, social, and played on smaller courts than tennis, they have key differences:
Court: Padel is played on an enclosed court with glass walls that are part of the game. Pickleball is played on an open court with no walls.
Equipment: Padel uses a solid racket and a pressurized tennis-style ball. Pickleball uses a paddle and a plastic ball with holes.
Gameplay: Padel is always doubles and includes rebounds off walls, like squash. Pickleball can be singles or doubles and is played without walls.
Serving: Both use underhand serves, but the rules differ significantly.
Padel is more popular in Europe and Latin America, while pickleball is booming in the U.S. Both are great – but very different experiences!

How do I book a court?
You can book online via Playtomic, if you have any issues you can call the club to get some help
What’s the difference between an Open Match and a Private Booking?
Can I cancel or reschedule a booking?
Yes –you can cancel up to 24 hours before your booking via the Playtomic app. Late cancellations may not be refunded. If you can not make it to your match or comp and you have a replacement call the club to have your spot changed. If we cancel due to weather or other reasons, your payment will be refunded to your wallet.
We have our cancellation policy up on the noticeboard in the club house.
EQUIPMENT & FACILITIES
Do I need my own racket and balls?
No worries if you don’t – we have rackets and balls available to hire or buy at the clubhouse.
Is there a pro shop or café?
Yes – we have funky little bar that has snacks, drinks, beers and even a yummy cocktail!! The pro shop has all the padel for gear. Come early and stay for a chat!
